3 days Mekong Delta Tour Phnom Penh – Saigon

Day 1: Phnom Penh - Chau Doc (D)

We will pick you up at your hotel in Phnom Penh at 7.00 am and transfer to the boat pier for boarding the speed boat to Chau Doc, Vietnam. Arrive at Chau Doc around 12.30 noon. We guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to check in the hotel. Enjoy an hour’s cruise down the Lower Mekong River. In the afternoon, visit Sam Mountain and the cave pagoda. From the summit of the mountain, admire the sunset over the flat rice fields around the Vietnamese-Cambodia border. You have dinner and stay overnight in Chau Doc.

Day 2: Chau Doc - Tra Su Sanctuary - Can Tho (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will go on the car drive and take a motor boat trip to see the floating fish farm and the floating village. Visit the local Cham minority village in their traditional weaving village. You will continue the tour to visit Tra Su, getting to the wild birds Sanctuary, cruising smoothly with small boats to discover the arrays of splendid canals deep into the forest, watching storks, cranes and other tropical birds. Back to Chau Doc, and depart for Can Tho with local lunch break en-route. You will check in the hotel on arrival, and have break. Free at leisure. Have dinner and stay overnight in Can Tho. Overnight in your proposed hotel in Can Tho. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Can Tho. ( home stay can be arranged on request).

Option 1: Stay in a hotel in Can Tho Check into your hotel on arrival at Can Tho. Free to explore the city on your own in the afternoon. You can also visit a village, meet the local people, have dinner with them and enjoy their music. Overnight at your chosen hotel.

Option 2: Home stay transfer by motor-boat to the small village in Cai Rang district. Check into your the home stay and experience the local daily life around. In the afternoon, go cycling or walking around the village to experience the rural lifestyle of the Mekong Delta people. Join a family as they prepare dinner, then have the meal with them. Overnight stay at the home stay.

Day 3: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)

After breakfast, take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), then proceed to the Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating markets, which are the liveliest in the region. You will probably have tried Vietnamese vermicelli soup so now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the local people. Learn how to cross a “Monkey Bridge” which is built from a single bamboo. Return to Can Tho for lunch at a local restaurant. Depart for Ho Chi Minh City with stop overs at Mekong rest stop. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at around 5pm. End services on arrival at the hotel
